There was much discussion and consideration as to what Donelson Baseball was going to do.  The fact is that Donelson Baseball has seen the number of players that register each year decrease from 1200 players twelve years ago to less that 600 last season.  In looking at the numbers we noticed a troublesome trend, over the past five years we have experience and average decrease of 6% of players each year.  At the same time Mount Juliet’s baseball program has grown 6% each year of the same period of time.  These numbers were very telling.  As more and more individuals move from the Donelson, Hermitage and Old Hickory communities and relocated in West Wilson County, Mount Juliet, or numbers have gone down and their numbers have increased.  Because of this Donelson Baseball has affiliated with Babe Ruth / Cal Ripken to expand our boundaries and increase our membership.  By increasing the number of players at Donelson Baseball we will increase the amount of teams, games and revenues allowing Donelson Baseball to exist for our childrens children and ensure that the park we all love continues providing quality baseball to the children and families of Middle Tennessee.
